This is especially important as we are a social enterprise for Caring for Life, a non-profit charity dedicated to supporting, nurturing, and protecting vulnerable adults in the GreaterLeeds area."

How do our products help enhance your food offering and drive sales?

"Our pie range is the main driver for our frozen category. They’re particularly popular with older customers, as they can stock up on individual pies for their freezer and use them as needed, reducing food waste. They’re also ideal for younger customers with families or anyone short on time, as they’re quick and easy to cook without compromising on quality or taste."

How has working with The Original Baker benefited your business? (e.g., customerretention, sales growth, ease of supply, etc.)

"Once customers try the pies, they always return for more. Last year, we also began stocking the iced biscuits in the farm shop and mini loaf cakes in our grab-and-go coffee shop, both of which have been great additions to our offerings."

Would you recommend The Original Baker to other farm shops and garden centres? If so, why?

"We already have and would definitely do so again! At our last Winter Food Fayre, we made sure to introduce the owner of one of our suppliers, who runs a farm shop, to the TOB team. The TOB team is incredibly helpful, always easy to contact, and makes ordering simple. They offer an amazing range of products and have consistently gone above and beyond to support our social enterprise."

How would you describe the quality and consistency of The Original Baker’s products?

There’s a common misconception that frozen products aren’t as high quality as fresh ones, and we thought the same before trying TOB pies. However, their pies are some of the best we've had, whether at home, in pubs, or elsewhere, and the quality is consistently excellent."

What’s your personal favourite product from our range, and why?

 

Trey: "The Minced Beef & Onion Pie is absolutely unreal."

Nate: "The Steak & Ale Pie. It might be a bit of a cliché, but the taste speaks for itself."

Sophie: "This is such a tough choice, but I’d probably go with the Pork & Cider Pie!"
