What made you choose The Original Baker as a supplier for your farm shop?

We’ve stocked The Original Baker for many years now, and their range is now a core range in our shop (retail ready frozen) and our deli (bake off). After trying many brands previously, we’ve found The Original Baker range to be consistent, quality and our customers have voted with their feet – we now range over 30 of their products.

How do The Original Baker’s pies and sausage rolls compare to other products you’ve stocked?

The sales of The Original Baker compare favorably to other brands we’ve stocked. The sales are reliable, consistent and in a farm shop which space is at a premium, we can rely on The Original Baker range to contribute more than their fair share.

How has working with The Original Baker impacted your business?

In a world where labour and overheads are so costly, working with The Original Baker gives us an outstanding product range without the cost. We know we can trust the range to deliver on brand, taste, quality and margin and we know we can trust The Original Baker to deliver on the essentials too – they are great at communication, innovation and the supply chain is straightforward.

Have you found our pies and sausage rolls to offer good value in terms of quality versus margin potential?

The pies and sausage rolls offer great value, with a good cost price enabling a reasonable retail price. Too many suppliers take their eye off the end retail price, and thus, price their products out of the market. The Original Baker product range always offers us the opportunity to offer a sharp retail price to the customer, whilst making a reasonable margin.

What feedback have you received from your customers about our products?

Our customers really like the range, and this is visible through our breadth of range. In many years of working with The Original Baker, I fail to recall a single complaint.

How do our products help enhance your food offering and drive sales?

The Original Baker range is a solid addition to our farm shop, and their quality compares well with our own label. The two ranges complement each other well, with the breadth of range of The Original Baker meaning we can offer an excellent range of products across each category, from vegan, vegetarian, meat and fish. 

What’s your personal favourite product from our range, and why?

My personal favourite is the Slow Roast Pork in Cream and Cider Sauce Pie. It’s an excellent product, and offers something beyond the usual steak, chicken or lamb options.
