For The Original Baker, the 1lb Pork Pie has been a long-held ambition, and a project especially close to the heart of our Commercial Manager, Richard Oglesby.

The goal was simple to state but hard to achieve: a premium, family-sized pork pie that our customers could bake fresh in their own food halls, filling the shop with the aroma of proper baking and giving shoppers a centrepiece worth taking home.

So we made our own

Getting there took real commitment. We searched globally for a foil in exactly the right size and found that the perfect option simply didn't exist. So we made it ourselves. We invested in tooling to produce a bespoke foil, made a significant commitment to stock, and then purchased further tooling to block the pastry and form the pie case itself.

The result is a pie with tall, proud sides and a deep, generous fill, baked in traditional hot water crust pastry that bakes to a rich, burnished gold.

What's inside

It's made with premium British pork shoulder, dry-cure smoked bacon and our own blend of herbs and seasonings. Cut into it and you'll find crisp pastry, enriched with butter and packed with lean, succulent pork. It's a modern take on a timeless British classic, still rooted in heritage methods.

Made for slicing and sharing

Designed to be sliced, shared and savoured, the 1lb Pork Pie is at home on a Boxing Day buffet, a weekend picnic or simply served with a good jar of pickles. We're thrilled to offer it to your customers and their families this Christmas and beyond.
